Two Chicago yarn stores:
Knit1--dog friendly store. Malabrigo, Noro, Kauni
Small but inviting shop
Mom bought Mendocino by Crystal Palace. Pretty rainbow colorway in long strips, a la Noro but in merino so it was very soft.

Knitters Niche – a little messy; I got a sad vibe from the place. Dream in Color, Lornas Laces, lots of knitted items for sale, lace shawls and scarves.
I bought Knitscene Winter 2011. I normally love Knitscene but was a little underwhelmed with this issue.

New! Videocast!

Hi everyone, if there is an "everyone" left reading this blog. I haven't blogged since Jan. 2010 but now I'm starting a videocast? Am I crazy? Maybe. But I'm embarking on a year of not buying yarn and I figured this videocast would help keep me honest. It's my first attempt, so there's lots of room for improvement! But here's the first episode and I hope it's not too dorky.
